Winter happenings at Village Walk

Holiday events will take place in the open-air shopping center Village Walk at Eastlake to include free snowfall, accompanied by music and lights Thursdays through Sundays  at 6 and 7 p.m. through Dec. 24 at the courtyard near the Koi Pond.Children get free headbands and “magic” glasses to watch the snowfall in rainbow colors. Life-sized photo props of Santa, Snowmen, Elsa and Olaf will be placed throughout the Village Walk every Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m to 8 p.m.  A Life-Size Photo Frame will be placed today and Dec.12 from 4-6 p.m.  Look for the Life-Size Photo Frame in the parking lot area between T.J. Maxx and Otay Sushi & Crab A photographer will be available to take “picture perfect” photos using each family’s camera or mobile phone.

Chula Vista City Council Meeting

On Tuesday, December 7th at 5pm, Chula Vista City Council Members will meet to discuss several agenda items, including actions to approve or disapprove the CIty’s final Redistricting Plan, slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Brain Balance Seminar: Navigating Boyhood: How to Raise Kind, Calm, Cooperative Sons

Christmas Circle 

This longtime tradition will be on display every night from beginning Dec.11 through Dec.26 at 5-10 p.m located between Whitney and Mankato Street, just south of H Street between 1st and 2nd Ave. The residents of Christmas Circle will dress their homes in holiday decorations. The organizer Sandra Burns, will dress as Mrs. Claus and welcome guests who drive by or walk through Christmas Circle. 

Nutcracker Ballet Performance

San Diego Ballet will perform the Nutcracker free of charge on Sunday, Dec.12 at Memorial Bowl at 4 p.m. This 50 minute performance of the classic Nutcracker Ballet will be followed by a free mini-class for children of all ages to learn ballet moves and perform onstage at Memorial Bowl, 373 Park Way.

Brain Balance Seminar: Sensory Sensitivities: Holiday Guide,

This free virtual event will take place on Dec .14 from 7:30- 8 p.m. is for parents and care givers to learn more about sensory sensitivities and explore practical tips to keep the upcoming holiday season sensory-friendly and stress-free. Click here to learn more and to register.

Family Holiday Craft Workshop

Hosted at the Chula Vista South Branch Library at 389 Orange Avenue on Dec.16 at 5 p.m.  

Wreaths Across America

An annual tradition on Dec.18 at 9 a.m.at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary that lays wreaths at the graves of veterans along with the act of saying each and every veteran's name out loud in their honor. Click here to register to volunteer, learn more or donate. As of today,1,333 wreaths of 8,000 have been sponsored. Wreaths are $15 each. Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mourtuary is located at 3838 Bonita Road. 

A Visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. 

Santa Claus and his wife Mrs. Claus will visit the Frendship Park deck on Dec.18 from 2-4 p.m at the Chula Vista Civic Center Library located at 365 F Street.
