Holiday turkeys will be distributed on Nov. 17 at Operation Gobble, an annual food and resource fair aimed to support local families struggling during the holiday season.
Thanksgiving turkeys, free winter coats for youth, diapers and other essential items will be distributed at Cesar Chavez Park on a first-come-first serve basis beginning at 3 p.m.
Health care services such as mammograms, flu shots, COVID-19 testing, vaccinations and booster shots will be offered at this food and resource fair.
Building on a successful program in 2013, Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez expanded the Operation Gobble program distributing holiday turkeys to families in need. Last year, nearly 1,000 turkeys along with several tons of produce were provided across multiple events to local families in celebration of the holiday season.
