A woman was fatally struck by two cars Thursday afternoon in a busy Chua Vista street, authorities announced.
The collision happened in the 600 Block of Palomar street at approximately 6:43 P.M., according to Chula Vista Police Officer Brandon Andaluz. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a black Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound when the driver hit a pedestrian in the second lane.
The driver of the Black Toyota Corolla yielded. A second vehicle, a white Scion IA, did not see the pedestrian in the roadway and also struck the pedestrian. The second vehicle that struck the pedestrian yielded.
First responders at the scene provided lifesaving assistance, but the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries at the scene, according to police. Both drivers cooperated with law enforcement and were not suspected of being under the influence.
The Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau is currently investigating the collision.
