The driver of a white van with a top-mounted boom lift fled after hitting a woman at a Chula Vista intersection Wednesday afternoon, leaving her with serious injuries.
A Chula Vista Police Department Community Service Officer reported witnessing the vehicle hit the woman just after 4:30 P.M. at the intersection of F street and Garret Avenue, according to the CVPD. First responders arrived at the scene and discovered the woman unresponsive.
Authorities transported the woman, whose identity was not released, to a trauma center where she was in stable condition with “several significant injuries”.
The incident is under investigation by the CVPD’s Traffic Bureau.
