A man stole $30,000 worth of cell phones from a Verizon store in Chula Vista on Saturday morning.

The suspect fled with multiple cellphones in his possession after reportedly forcing his way into a Verizon store at the Otay Ranch Town Center. Once inside, the man filled several black trash bags with the phones, then left the store.

The theft occurred as an employee was unlocking the store, according to OnScene.TV. The suspect claimed to have a gun in possession. 

There were no reports of injury caused by the theft. The employee remained unharmed and did not see the handgun. 

The suspect was described as dressed in all black and wearing a full face mask during the robbery. He fled in an unknown direction.

Chula Vista Police Department is investigating the case
