The identity of two individuals killed in a high-speed crash Sunday evening in Chula Vista remains unknown, according to officials.
The Chula Vista Police Department responded to a collision shortly before 10 p.m. on Olympic Parkway near Hunte Parkway. A vehicle was caught on fire when officers arrived. Officers extinguished the flames and found two people dead inside.
According to a witness, one of the cars was speeding and smashed into another vehicle, sending one of the cars flying off the road. In an update provided Monday Morning, the identity of the two deceased individuals are “currently unknown”.
The CVPD has not yet determined the cause of the crash. An investigation is ongoing and the CVPD asked any witnesses to contact their traffic bureau. The department's non-emergency line is 619-691-5151.
