Temperatures were well above average on Saturday, which is predicted to be the warmest day of the week.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday’s temperatures reached eight to 20 degrees above normal. The county experienced winds, heat, and low relative humidity, which elevated fire weather in the passes and on the desert slopes late Saturday.

Low clouds and fog may be possible Saturday night through Sunday morning across the coast with greater coverage expected for Sunday night into Monday.

The National Weather Service predicted high temperatures along the coast on Saturday to be 76 to 81 degrees with overnight lows of 55 to 60. Highs in the western valleys were
expected to be 86 to 91 and 89 to 94 near the foothills, with overnight lows of
57 to 62.

Highs in the mountains were expected to be 84 to 92 with overnight
lows of 54 to 62 and highs in the deserts were predicted to be 102 to 107 with overnight lows of 69 to 78.

Sunday, temperatures start to cool down everywhere except the deserts. The first few days of next week will bring a gradual cooling each day. Forecasters predict substantial cooling for late next week.

Sketchy conditions along the coast with marine layer clouds are predicted to return on Sunday when a total lunar eclipse is expected to grace the night sky. According to NWS, patchy low clouds anticipate to completely abstract the moon in some locations at beaches and up to five miles inland. Clouds are expected to be thin in all other areas.
