President Joe Biden celebrated his first year in office this Thursday, and the polls on his performance are very low, mainly due to inflation and the response to the pandemic.

According to various polls, President Biden now has between 41 and 43 percent approval, while disapproval stands at 56 percent.

The president announced on Wednesday that in 2024, he plans to seek re-election, but now only 28 percent of those polled said they would vote for him.

The president has lost points mainly in two areas, the economy and the pandemic.

Inflation of 7 percent in December hit all Americans, even though the president managed to reduce unemployment.

Regarding the pandemic, the president highlighted on Wednesday that when he arrived at the residence, only two million Americans were vaccinated. There are over 200 million people fully vaccinated in the United States.

But the arrival of the Omicron variant triggered the demand for tests to detect COVID-19, and the kits for those tests have been in very short supply, causing unrest among Americans.

The administration has begun to send tests and masks to all homes that request them, but the general feeling is that it is a little late.

On the other hand, President Biden's ambitious infrastructure project, the hallmark of his administration, went from stagnation to impossibility because two Democrats have opposed approving it, and their votes leave the caucus in the minority.

This worsens the situation of the president as only 37 percent said they felt approval of Biden in the area of economics.

Regarding the issue of immigration reform that the president promised, after two decades of frustrations, Biden's plan to regularize the immigration status of 8 million undocumented immigrants practically failed after going from plan A to B, and to C that was rejected by a senate official.

In terms of migration, the president only allowed people who deserve asylum to enter for a few weeks. Biden maintains measures from the Trump era such as the Stay in Mexico program, Title 42, and high rates of arrests by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office.
