Third Avenue will host Taste of Third for its 26th year to highlight international cuisines and drinks in Chula Vista.
Taste of Third takes place on March 31 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. where attendees may find international bites and sips labeled on their Taste of Third Passport. Tickets are priced at $40 for advance purchase starting February 21st and increase to $45 starting March 1st.
“It’s an honor to celebrate 26 years of this community-loved event!”, said Dominic Li Mandri, District Director of the Third Avenue Village Association (TAVA). “It’s a great way to bring the community together and highlight the wide variety of businesses along Third Avenue. You can take your tastes and eat them as you walk from one participating business to the next or you can bring a blanket and have a mini picnic at Memorial Park. However you choose to enjoy your tastes, we encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a beautiful evening in our neighborhood.”
Upon arrival, attendees will check-in at their scheduled time at the corner of Third Avenue & Park Way adjacent to Memorial Park, where they will be given their Taste of Third Passport. Live music will fill the Third Avenue Village corridor, where guests will then make their way to each stop and pick up their “tastes”.
According to TAVA, current participating businesses include Bar Sin Nombre, Farmer’s Table, Shake & Muddle, Brew Bar, Mmm…Cakes!, with more to be added regularly.
This is one of several events Li Mandri has this coming year as a part of his new vision for Chula Vista’s Third Avenue.
Li Mandri is the president of New City America, the company that revitalized San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhoods. He took over as the Executive Director of TAVA in the fall and envisions growth in the area with mix-use development, more public spaces, and entrepreneurial activities.
